I'm sitting at my desk, revising my research paper, and thinking about all of the things I learned about gender equality in science and math, and suddenly, I thought about Marky Mark's Wildside.

I was suddenly very moved by "Annie's" plight. All she wanted to do was be a chemical engineer, making 50-55 thousand a year. Heaven knows we need more female chemical engineers. And now, what's left? Washed up dreams and shattered pride, all because Annie took a hit on the wildside.

I'm thinking I should try to work this anecdote into my paper somehow. What I'm less sure about is who I cite - Mark Wahlberg or Lou Reed?
